Flaming Gorge Reservoir

Known for its deep, clear waters, this reservoir is a favorite among anglers for its abundant trout and smallmouth bass. The stunning red canyon walls that surround the reservoir make for a picturesque fishing experience.

Lake Powell

This man-made reservoir on the Colorado River is renowned for its bass and catfish. Its vast size and the surrounding desert landscape provide a unique fishing environment. The lake’s numerous side canyons offer peaceful, secluded spots for fishing, while the main channel provides more challenging deep-water fishing opportunities. Strawberry Reservoir

Scientifically known as Oncorhynchus mykiss, is a species of trout native to cold-water tributaries of the Pacific Ocean. It is renowned for its vibrant coloration, with a broad reddish stripe along its lateral line and speckled black spots adorning its silver body, making it a favorite among anglers and nature enthusiasts alike.

A hybrid of a Brook Trout and a Brown Trout, is known for its striking pattern of worm-like markings across its body. This unique and aggressive fish is a favorite among anglers for its fighting spirit and the challenge it presents.


A hybrid of Striped Bass and White Bass, are known for their aggressive feeding habits and high-speed pursuits, making them a thrilling catch for anglers. They feature a silvery, elongated body with several horizontal dark stripes, combining the best traits of their parent species.


Utah has excellent bass fishing in many of its lakes and reservoirs. Largemouth bass are commonly caught at Utah Lake, Sand Hollow Reservoir, and Quail Creek Reservoir. Smallmouth bass can be found in the clear waters of Flaming Gorge and Lake Powell, providing exciting action for anglers.
